Using machine learning to design a new soft magnetic alloy

Aerospace engineers at NASA needed a more efficient soft magnetic alloy. The existing materials took too much energy to switch magnetic fields.
After compiling all available data on soft magnet research, I built a forest model to predict what combination of elements would have the lowest coercivity.
There were a couple outstanding candidates which NASA was able to begin synthesizing and testing.
